WordCamp Asia: Celebrating WordPress in Bangkok” Devmont Digital was excited to be a part of the flagship event of WordCamp Asia 2023. We had been looking forward to the WordCamp Asia 2023 event for months and were excited to be able to attend and experience the best WordCamp in Bangkok. WordCamps have always been a great place for WordPress enthusiasts from around the globe to come together and share their knowledge and experiences.

What is WordCamp?

WordCamp is an annual event held by the WordPress community to celebrate the platform and its users from around the world. In February 2023, the event was held in Bangkok and was the first to be held since the unfortunate delays due to the pandemic.

Overview of WordCamp Asia 2023

At WordCamp Asia 2023, we had the great opportunity to learn and engage with the WordPress community through three-day panel discussions, various speakers, contributors, and talks. We gained valuable insight into the platform and all its features, making it a truly rewarding experience. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get involved, share knowledge, and grow their network.

WordCamp Asia 2023 was the perfect chance for WordPress enthusiasts worldwide to gather and celebrate their common interests. After a delay of two years due to the unfortunate pandemic, the event was held from 17-19 February 2023 at the True Icon Hall of ICONSIAM in Bangkok. We had the chance to network and connect with industry-leading names such as GoDaddy, Hostinger, Yoast, WooCommerce, Bluehost, Jetpack, and many more.

Day 1: Contributor Day

The first day of WordCamp Asia was dedicated to the contributors of the WordPress community, who have worked hard to make the platform better and more user-friendly. Over 21 teams from diverse backgrounds collaborated, discussed, and explored new ideas to improve the platform.

Day 2: Speaker sessions and Panel discussions

The event’s second day was dedicated to the speakers and their expertise on various topics, from core WordPress to psychology. There were over 30 speakers from different backgrounds, who each shared their knowledge and insights on various topics. There were also workshops and panel discussions held throughout the day. Attendees had the opportunity to attend sessions related to the development of WordPress, design, business, and marketing.

Day 3: Ask Matt Anything (AMA), Closing day of the event

Ask Matt Anything (AMA) marked the final day of the event. Participants had the opportunity to ask Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress, any questions they had regarding the platform. It was an interactive session where Mullenweg shared his insights and knowledge on various topics related to WordPress. Attendees had a great time networking with one another, sharing their experiences, and exchanging ideas.

Our CEO, Mustafa Fazal, was at the event to represent Devmont Digital. The after-parties were also a great way to wrap up the event. We had the chance to join Freemius and WP-Engine on February 18th, followed by the official WordPress after-party on the 19th. It was an amazing experience!
