BWTH is a platform created to empower Black women by giving them career opportunities, learning resources, training sessions, and other tools to help them grow. BWTH, built on the Laravel framework, brings together critical information, training, and job opportunities under one online platform. This backend-powered portal intends to help the Black community by offering easily accessible, centralized career and personal development tools.
With this objective, BWTH contacted the Devmont Team to bring this vision to life. They desired a strong, scalable, visually appealing portal that handles complicated operations while maintaining a user-friendly interface.
Developing BWTH, we faced several challenges. We experienced problems designing a user management system that could handle numerous user types—employees, employers, and administrators—with different rights and access levels when developing this portal using Laravel, integrating an advanced job search and matching algorithm involved tweaking the Laravel backend and ensuring that data fetching was fast and scalable. Another challenge was designing and executing this portal from the ground up on Figma, as we needed to create an interface that focused on visually appealing and functional users.
Laravel: We chose Laravel as a backend because of its powerful framework, which allows for quick implementation of complicated functionality such as user management, job searches, and data processing.
Vue.js: Vue.js is selected for the front end because of its reactive components, which provide a smooth and flexible user experience.
Figma: Figma was used to create user-focused designs that made the portal’s design aesthetically pleasing and clear.
MySQL: Served as the backbone for data management, providing reliable and versatile storage for job postings, individual profiles, and training materials.
A one-stop website for Black women to find employment opportunities, learning, and support.
A participatory community for sharing experiences, seeking assistance, and building relationships.
Modern technology powers a new approach to job matching, connecting people to opportunities that fit their unique skills and interests.
BWTH is an online community designed particularly for and by Black women, giving it a unique and much-needed helping hand in the age of technology. Its broad and diverse features elevate it beyond just a job portal, providing a community-focused experience that encourages development and self-determination.
To bring BWTH’s idea to reality, Devmont Digital addressed the project with a user-centered design and feature-rich functionality. We began the design phase by generating high-resolution prototypes using Figma to ensure that the design, color scheme, and general style matched BWTH’s target audience. After accepting the design, we used Laravel to create a robust backend that can handle complicated functions such as user administration, job listings, and course offerings.
We followed industry standards throughout development to improve website speed, security, and durability. Our team worked tirelessly to test and fine-tune every element, ensuring the website provided a flawless experience for job seekers and companies. Finally, Devmont Digital created a customized solution that exceeded BWTH’s expectations, providing the Black community with a robust and easy-to-use portal.
The visually appealing layout of BWTH matches its aim of empowerment and inspiration. Our Figma designs have a fresh, modern look with a dynamic color palette that symbolizes strength and progress. The layout was designed to be user-friendly, focusing on simple navigation that allows visitors to access resources and information easily.
